All the icons available are painted according to the Prosopon School method of iconography. Each icon is painted on a traditionally shaped solid wood panel prepared with chalk gesso. We use water gilding with 23 or 24 carat gold leaf set on a red clay ground. Paints are prepared from natural and man made pigments suspended in egg tempera medium. The icons are finished with a linseed oil finish.
